Now a Project Coordination Associate, she reflects on the challenges, achievements, and mentorship that shaped her path. Read on to discover how PSI’s culture of professional development and teamwork has empowered her to grow and thrive in the dynamic world of clinical research.
I began my career at PSI in 2021 as a Clinical Trial Assistant I, stepping into the world of clinical research with no prior experience. From the start, I was immersed in the intricate and fast-paced nature of the industry, beginning with my very first study. It was an invaluable learning experience where I gained insights into study start-up activities and the complexities of clinical trials.
After completing that study, I took on a challenging rescue project, reconciling data and processes from a previous CRO. This experience taught me the critical importance of thorough communication and attention to detail. From there, I moved to a larger study that allowed me to transition into the role of Senior Clinical Trial Assistant, where I embraced greater responsibilities and developed my leadership skills.
Now, as a Project Coordinator Associate, I continue to grow professionally. Each study I’ve worked on has expanded my understanding of clinical research, strengthened my skills, and reinforced my passion for this field.
Growth, Development & Success
What has contributed most to my growth is the diversity of studies and roles I’ve undertaken. Each project comes with its own challenges, offering opportunities to deepen my expertise and broaden my perspective. These cumulative experiences have been instrumental in shaping my professional journey.
PSI’s support has also been pivotal. From mentorship programs to professional development workshops, I’ve received guidance and resources that have helped me excel. Having a mentor early in my career made all the difference, providing a safe space to ask questions and gain clarity on complex topics. Today, I take pride in mentoring others, passing on the knowledge and support that were so generously offered to me.
Additionally, PSI recognized my aspirations to become a Project Coordinator and gradually exposed me to tasks that prepared me for the role. This proactive support has been vital in helping me transition and advance my career.
The Impact of PSI’s Culture
The culture at PSI has been the foundation of my success. The emphasis on teamwork and collaboration has created an environment where I’ve consistently felt supported. My colleagues have always been willing to share their expertise, brainstorm ideas, and lend a helping hand during challenging times.
This spirit of camaraderie not only helped me overcome obstacles but also strengthened my confidence and sense of belonging. I attribute much of my success to the collective effort of my teammates and the collaborative environment that PSI fosters.
What Keeps Me Motivated
I am driven by the constant opportunity to learn and grow. The dynamic and ever-evolving nature of clinical research keeps me engaged and challenges me to push the boundaries of my knowledge and skills.
Knowing that my work contributes to meaningful research initiatives and ultimately impacts lives gives me a strong sense of purpose. This alignment between personal growth and the chance to make a difference motivates me to continue striving for excellence in my career.
To those just starting out at PSI or in the clinical research industry, my advice is simple: stay curious and never hesitate to ask questions.
