PSI South Korea Embraces Tradition, Commitment to On-Time Delivery, and Innovation at Office Opening Ceremony

Recently, PSI South Korea moved to the Lotte World Tower in Seoul and celebrated the opening with a traditional Korean blessing ceremony to welcome the team to the new space. Local media also attended a small press conference to commemorate the event and share more about PSI’s journey and dedication to delivering on-time clinical trials worldwide.

About the space

The office is located on the 25th floor of the Lotte World Tower, 300 Olympic-ro, Songpa-gu, in Jamsil, Seoul (Sincheon-dong), a cultural hot spot known for its local baseball stadium and bustling artistic neighborhoods. The offices can be seen from every direction in the city, aligning with PSI’s instantly recognizable and distinctive presence in the clinical trial community. At 123 stories and 555 meters (1,821 feet), the Lotte World Tower is the sixth tallest building in the world and the first skyscraper to be over 100 stories in South Korea. In addition to office spaces, the tower hosts a luxury hotel and a viewing platform with a spectacular, unhindered view of the city and landscape.

The celebration

The team kicked off the celebration with a ribbon cutting and continued with the traditional blessing ceremony, which included fruits, rice cakes, and a pig made with paper. In Korea, the pig represents the prosperity and wealth of descendants. Participants had the opportunity to place a small offering on the table in exchange for luck, wealth, and happy moments in the future. Attendees received a celebration rice cake and a customized fountain pen as a thank-you gift for attending.

Barrie Koh, Head of Asia-Pacific at PSI, talked about PSI’s continuous growth, therapeutic expertise, and plans for continued expansion. “We are grateful for the opportunity to share our vision with our Korean sites and clients and look forward to building stronger connections in the future to support our singular focus on on-time patient enrollment,” said Barrie.

Journalists from Medipana, Korea Biomedical Review, Daily Medi, and more were in attendance at a short press conference, eager to learn about PSI and how our presence in the region will impact the CRO industry and sponsors in Korea. In addition to questions around the culture of PSI and our high employee retention rate, there was also curiosity about our specialized therapeutic expertise, site relationships in Korea, and protocol and process improvement.

After the press conference, everyone gathered in the canteen to enjoy a delicious catered meal surrounded by live flowers. Thanks to the beautiful weather and panoramic windows, the office and event were brightened by the sun, the perfect accompaniment to this exciting new chapter in PSI’s growth in Korea, the Asia-Pacific region, and around the globe.
