Every day of the year, across every single time zone, at any second, we’re thinking about clinical trials at PSI. We obsess over every little detail, every aspect. We focus on optimizing our processes. We’re dedicated to finding new ideas and implementing new solutions. And we’re committed to building relationships with our partners to do that.
Our sites are a priority for us. Whether it’s how to engage a site best for a study that needs to start up quickly or rushing to send a handwritten card to make sure the site knows we’re thinking about them, sites have always been a priority to us.
Why Do Sites Matter So Much?
It’s an easy question to answer, really: sites are the key to successful clinical trials. We know that without sites, patients wouldn’t have access to participate in clinical trials. As such, medicines would not be developed and cures would not be found. Sites are integral. They are the lynchpin between research and treatment, where patients create lasting relationships with investigative sites who build trust. CRO’s can’t reach out to patients directly, but we do have a hand in choosing and creating long-lasting relationships with the PIs and facilities that we know can help save lives and provide essential data.
Yet, even knowing this, so many sites still aren’t a focus. And many that are, aren’t taken care of by their CRO. We’ve even seen statistics noting that after one clinical study, many investigators stop participating in trials. They note fatigue, time requirements, and a host of other issues that could be mitigated by having consistent and stable project management teams from the CRO side. A statistic of roughly 54% notes the turnover rate among principal investigators. In an industry where we need all hands on deck to develop drugs, we have to do something to decrease this number and turn the trend around.
PSI looks at sites as partners in our clinical trial success; even as teammates in some instances. They’re running the race with us. And when we present our sites to sponsors, we do so knowing that the site in discussion is one that we have a great relationship with. It’s a site that we trust, a site that we can rely on to make things happen. At PSI, we carry the mantra that “we can do hard things.” We partner with sites that believe in the same idea – the sites that are committed to finding cures and work tirelessly to deliver results, with experts on staff that are passionate about the work that they do.
So What Are We Doing About It?
After our consecutive rankings in CenterWatch’s Investigative Site Survey as a top CRO, it’s time that we say thank you in a proper way. During the week of May 14th, our USA team at PSI is celebrating sites in a way that we’ve never done before: Site Appreciation Week.
If you’re an investigator or site contact reading this, get ready. Keep an eye on your inbox, mailbox, and caller ID for your surprises from PSI. And if you’re a CRO, take note. Sites should be celebrated every day, and we’re excited to share our appreciation.
We are so appreciative of your partnership in working towards a healthier world. We could not do this without you. We’re thankful that while we obsess over clinical trials, you’re focused on enrolling and working with patients.
Site Appreciation Week: More To Come!
For all of the updates and info, connect to our social channels and stay up to date with the week’s event. We can’t tell you everything that’s taking place, but we can assure you that the surprises will be well worth the anticipation.
Are you from a site outside of the US? Don’t worry! We’re planning a Site Appreciation Week for you, too. We are thankful for your partnership no matter where you are in the world.
At PSI, we’re dedicated to being the best CRO in the world as measured by our employees, customers, and investigators. We’re so excited to show our dedication to investigators and sites during this week of appreciation.
